Job summary

Hendrick Manufacturing in Carbondale, PA is seeking an MP Operator to run lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and related equipment on a 12‑hour team schedule.

Under moderate supervision, you will read engineering drawings or rough sketches, set up your own machining work, and produce metal parts to specification. A high school diploma or GED is required; prior CNC or manual machining experience is preferred.

Qualifications

BASIC FUNCTION

Under moderate supervision, operates a variety of machines such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, or special purpose equipment to machine metal work pieces to specification on a production basis.

MAJOR DUTIES

• Performs a variety of tasks on a variety of machines.
• Works from engineering drawings or rough sketches.
• Sets up own machining work.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leader or supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• A thorough knowledge of machining techniques, materials, tools, equipment, and blueprint reading is required. Ability to read precision measuring tools is also required. Skills may be gained through practical experience and/or specialized training. Prior CNC or Manual Machine experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequent bending, twisting and/or lifting approximately 55 pounds (and periodically heavier loads approximately 75 pounds) will be required.
