Job summary

Hendrick Manufacturing in Carbondale, PA is seeking a skilled machinist to operate a range of machine tools and produce metal work pieces to specification on a production basis. You will read engineering drawings or rough sketches and set up your own machining work.

Basic Function

Under moderate supervision, operates a variety of machines such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, or special purpose equipment to machine metal work pieces to specification on a production basis.

Major Duties

• Performs a variety of tasks on a variety of machines.
• Works from engineering drawings or rough sketches.
• Sets up own machining work.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leader or supervisor.

Qualifications

Experience with machining techniques, tools, materials, equipment and blueprint reading is required. Ability to read precision measuring tools is also required. Skills may be gained through practical experience and/or specialized training. Minimum amount of rework or scrap will be accepted. Knowledge of all functions in given work area is required.

Physical Requirements

Frequent bending, twisting and/or lifting approximately 55 pounds (and periodically heavier loads approximately 75 pounds) will be required.
