4US Moving LLC is seeking a Claims Manager to own the claims process end to end, from intake to settlement, while coordinating with crews and foremen on incident reports, valuations and repairs.

The role is remote to align with Pacific Time hours, involving QA of claims across FMCSA interstate and California intrastate regulations, with full-time weekday schedule and occasional weekend follow-up.

Qualifications

• 3+ years handling claims in moving/household goods, freight, insurance or similar.
• Working knowledge of FMCSA household-goods claims rules and valuation options; California intrastate rules are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, log and track every claim within FMCSA interstates and California BHGS timelines.
• Investigate: gather incident reports, photos, inventories and bills of lading; talk to crew when needed.
• Determine liability and valuation — Released Value vs Full Value Protection interstate, tariff coverage intrastate.
• Negotiate and document fair settlements; arrange repairs and replacements through vendors.
• Respond to BBB, regulatory and review-platform complaints professionally and on time.
• Report claim trends and root causes to operations; recommend prevention measures.

About the Role

The Claims Manager owns the claims process end to end: intake, investigation, valuation, settlement and the follow-through that keeps a customer after a bad day. You'll work with crews and Foremen on incident reports, review bills of lading and inventories, apply the right valuation coverage, coordinate repairs and replacements, and respond to BBB and regulatory complaints.

You'll also feed what you learn back into operations so the same damage doesn't happen twice. Remote role on Pacific Time hours.

Remote — U.S. · all shifts scheduled in Pacific Time

Full-time · Monday–Friday business hours PT · occasional weekend follow-up

What You'll Do

• Acknowledge, log and track every claim within FMCSA (interstate) and California BHGS (intrastate) timelines
• Investigate: gather incident reports, photos, inventories and bills of lading; talk to the crew when needed
• Determine liability and valuation — Released Value vs Full Value Protection interstate, tariff coverage intrastate
• Negotiate and document fair settlements; arrange repairs and replacements through vendors
• Respond to BBB, regulatory and review-platform complaints professionally and on time
• Report claim trends and root causes to operations; recommend prevention (packing, training, equipment)
• Maintain the claims log and monthly reporting

What We're Looking For

• Professional moving-industry experience — required for every role at 4US Moving (Claims: claims, operations or customer-facing work at a moving company)
• 3+ years handling claims — moving / household goods, freight, insurance or similar
• Working knowledge of FMCSA household-goods claims rules and valuation options; California intrastate rules a plus (we train the specifics)
• Excellent written English — clear, empathetic, precise settlement letters
• Negotiation and de-escalation skills; organized and deadline-driven
• SmartMoving experience — a strong plus; comfortable with CRM and spreadsheets; remote setup (bring your own device; we provide the software)
