Description

Seasonal & Year Round Positions Available

Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking friendly, reliable, and service-driven Village Services Stewards to support our unique snowbound community. This role is ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors, delivering exceptional guest service, and being part of a tight-knit mountain team.

As a Village Services Steward, you are the heartbeat of the Sugar Bowl Homeowner experience - the first friendly face after a long drive up the mountain, the person who makes sure a Homeowner’s skis, groceries, and luggage are waiting at their door, and the team member who keeps our Village clean, safe, and running smoothly no matter what the Sierra Nevada throws at us.

This is a highly visible, physically active, outdoor role that blends luxury hospitality with real mountain operations. If you love being outside, take pride in doing things right, and get genuine satisfaction from making people’s days better, this is the job for you.

Why Sugar Bowl?

Sugar Bowl Resort has been proudly independent for over 80 years and is one of the oldest ski resorts in California. Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. This special community helped bring skiing to “sunny California” since December 1939. Since then, it continues to attract adventurous winter sports enthusiasts a like.

Who You Are:

• Genuinely friendly and take pride in making people feel welcomed and well cared for

• Dependable; you show up on time and ready to work

• Calm, organized, and solutions-focused, even in busy or changing conditions

• Comfortable working outdoors for long periods in cold, snowy Sierra Nevada winters

• Clear and professional communicator with homeowners, teammates, and managers

• Team-first attitude and able to take direction well

• Strong customer service mindset with the ability to stay composed in high-volume situations

• Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings

Requirements

• Valid U.S. work authorization (no visa sponsorship available)

• Clean, valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Nice to Have

• Experience in guest services, hospitality, resorts, or outdoor customer-facing roles

• Familiarity with ski resort or mountain environments

• Experience operating snowmobiles, ATVs, or similar equipment (training provided)

What You’ll do:

Over-the-Snow Transportation

• Transport Homeowners, guests, luggage, and gear via snowmobile or Ranger across the Village, ensuring a smooth, safe, and welcoming arrival and departure experience every time.

• Operate all over-the-snow vehicles with confidence, care, and strict adherence to resort safety protocols. (Full training provided, no prior experience necessary.)

• Coordinate efficiently with the Village Services and Concierge teams to manage transportation logistics during peak arrival and departure periods.

Homeowner & Guest Services

• Serve as the on-the-ground ambassador for the Sugar Bowl Homeowner experience; professional, warm, and genuinely helpful in every interaction.

• Deliver packages, groceries, and supplies directly to Homeowner residences, handling all items with care and discretion.

• Anticipate needs, respond to requests promptly, and go the extra mile to ensure every Homeowner feels at home on the mountain.

Village Maintenance & Operations

• Perform snow removal around Village common areas, walkways, and Homeowner properties using shovels and snow blowers - keeping the Village safe and accessible at all times.

• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of public areas throughout the Village, reflecting the resort’s high standards.

• Manage trash and recycling transport using over-the-snow vehicles, maintaining a clean and environmentally responsible Village.

• Communicate any maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or guest issues to the appropriate team leads in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting & Carrying: Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Occasional team lifting of items exceeding 50 lbs. may be required.
  • Standing & Walking: Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout an entire shift, including over uneven, snow-covered, or icy terrain.
