Job summary

Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking a Snowmaker II to operate the snowmaking system independently and contribute to high-quality snow surfaces for guests. You will run the guns, interpret conditions, and mentor newer snowmakers while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have at least one season of snowmaking experience, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a team-oriented mindset in a fast-paced resort environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 season of snowmaking experience or equivalent hands-on training.
• Comfortable operating snowmaking guns independently with minimal supervision.
• Solid working knowledge of snowmaking trail names and hydrant locations.
• Able to test and adjust snow quality based on conditions.
• Comfortable troubleshooting and basic maintenance on snow guns.
• Proficient at snowmobile safety and use.
• Punctual, energetic, and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Independently place, connect, and operate snowmaking guns across assigned trails.
• Test and adjust snow quality based on real-time conditions.
• Perform pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections (Ranger, snowmobile).
• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on snow guns and escalate major issues.
• Handle compressor fueling, spill prevention, and cleanup procedures.
• Navigate the snowmaking trail system and hydrant network confidently.
• Help train Snowmaker I team members on equipment and procedures.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies; maintain clean work areas.
