Job summary

Vail Resorts in Colorado is hiring for a Winter Seasonal 2026/2027 Food & Beverage General Manager to lead a resort restaurant operation, delivering guest-focused service and coordinating front- and back-of-house teams.

The role requires at least 5 years of restaurant experience, including 1 year in management, strong leadership and communication skills, and certifications (TIPS and ServSafe) within 30 days.

Qualifications

• 5 years of restaurant experience with at least 1 year in a managerial role
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Leadership, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Communication and customer service skills
• Must be able to lift and carry 40+ lbs
• TIPS certification within 30 days of employment
• Serve Safe Food Protection Manager certification within 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Set the example for service standards, menu knowledge, wine and beverage education, and overall service excellence.
• Work on the floor in the restaurant, manage revenue accounting, tip disbursements and scheduling, ordering, payroll, inventory, and daily logs.
• Understand and implement Mountain Dining policies, procedures, standards, and training.
• Ensure guests feel welcome with responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
• Achieve sales, service, quality, appearance, and sanitation objectives through staff training and a positive work environment.
• Control cash and other receipts per restaurant policies and procedures.
• Make employment and termination recommendations per company guidelines.
• Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Develop staff in all areas of restaurant and professional development.
• Prepare paperwork, forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
• Ensure equipment is kept clean and in good working condition and follow maintenance programs.
• Oversee and ensure performance appraisals are conducted on time.
• Schedule labor to meet anticipated activity and control costs.
• Enforce policies on personnel, corrective action, and adherence to rules.
• Follow health, safety and labor regulations for restaurant, employees and guests
