Job summary

REM Industrial, based in Hartford, CT, seeks a Field Service Technician to join our team and service motors and pumps at client sites. This role requires traveling to customer locations, performing hands-on maintenance, and ensuring equipment operates reliably.

Ideal candidates are mechanically minded, enjoy troubleshooting, and can work independently while communicating effectively with customers and internal teams. A valid driver's license and ability to travel are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years in field service, maintenance, or repair of industrial motors and pumps.
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer-service focus.
Willingness to travel locally or regionally and work independently.

Responsibilities

Install, inspect, service, and repair electric motors and pump systems at customer locations.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in field settings.
Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
Document all service work, parts used, and recommendations clearly.
Communicate findings and maintenance best practices to clients.
Ensure safety and compliance with REM Industrial standards and OSHA regulations.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely parts procurement and job completion.
