Job summary

The Rapid Group is seeking a skilled Pump and Motor Mechanic to service electromechanical motors and pumps. You will disassemble, inspect, repair, test, and reassemble equipment to meet safety and quality standards, and you will document your findings and actions.

Based onsite in Paterson, NJ, you will read and interpret scopes, use precision tools, and collaborate with teammates to ensure reliable equipment operation for municipal, industrial, and transportation sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience with AC/DC electromechanical motors, pumps, or related equipment.
• Strong mechanical ability to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble.
• Ability to diagnose failures and troubleshoot problems.
• Experience dismantling/assembling pumps and components.
• Read manuals, blueprints and schematics; use precision tools.
• Must supply own basic tools up to 1 inch and have clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work scopes to determine job status and limitations.
• Disassemble basic electromechanical equipment; identify parts and condition.
• Mark components, take photos, and document work accurately.
• Assemble pumps, motors, bearings, and mechanical seals.
• Pretest electrical and mechanical components and lubricate per standards.
• Conduct basic electrical/mechanical tests and document results.
• Troubleshoot known or suspected mechanical and electrical issues.
