ALLSTAR Chauffeured Services is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Motorcoach Fleet Mechanic & Maintenance Coordinator to help manage and maintain our motorcoach and commercial vehicle fleet.

This is not a position focused only on diesel engine work. We are looking for someone who can work on the entire vehicle and take ownership of the day‑to‑day maintenance process.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, air, brake, suspension, and general coach issues while also reviewing daily vehicle defects, coordinating outside repairs, and helping ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable, and DOT‑ready.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on motorcoaches and commercial vehicles
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services
  • Troubleshoot diesel engine and aftertreatment systems
  • Diagnose electrical, wiring, charging, starting, lighting, and accessory issues
  • Service and repair air brake and air system components
  • Repair suspension, steering, wheel‑end, and related chassis components
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC and climate‑control systems
  • Address coach interior and exterior issues, including doors, seating, hardware, switches, lighting, and accessories
  • Perform DOT inspection‑related repairs and help maintain inspection readiness
  • Use diagnostic software, scan tools, multimeters, and other testing equipment to identify issues accurately
Daily Fleet Maintenance Oversight

A major responsibility of this position will be managing the daily maintenance workflow for the fleet.

This includes:

  • Review chauffeur DVIRs and reported vehicle defects each day
  • Evaluate each defect and determine whether it should be repaired internally or sent to an outside repair facility
  • Prioritize repairs based on safety, DOT compliance, operational needs, and vehicle availability
  • Ensure defects are properly documented, addressed, and closed out
  • Identify vehicles that should be placed out of service until repairs are completed
  • Coordinate repairs with dealerships, manufacturers, and specialty repair shops
  • Follow up with outside repair facilities to keep repairs moving and reduce downtime
  • Verify outside repairs have been completed correctly before vehicles are returned to service when appropriate
  • Monitor vehicles currently out of service and provide status updates to operations
  • Track recurring mechanical issues and help identify root causes
  • Review preventative maintenance schedules and upcoming service requirements
  • Help improve maintenance planning so repairs are completed before they become roadside failures or inspection issues
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation for DOT and company requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working on motorcoaches, buses, heavy‑duty trucks, or similar commercial vehicles
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability and willingness to work on more than diesel engines
  • Experience with electrical diagnostics
  • Knowledge of air brakes and commercial vehicle air systems
  • Experience with HVAC systems preferred
  • Experience with diesel emissions and aftertreatment systems
  • Understanding of DOT inspection requirements
  • Ability to identify safety‑related defects and determine appropriate repair priorities
  • Strong organizational and follow‑through skills
  • Ability to manage multiple vehicles and repair priorities at the same time
  • Comfortable communicating with drivers, operations staff, dealerships, and repair facilities
  • Ability to work independently and make sound maintenance decisions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • CDL preferred but not required, willingness to obtain a CDL is a plus
The Right Fit

We are looking for someone who takes an ownership mentality toward fleet condition.

This person should not simply wait for a repair order and fix what is assigned. We want someone who sees a reported issue, investigates it, determines the right repair path, follows it through to completion, and makes sure the vehicle is truly ready to return to service.

One day may involve troubleshooting an engine fault or electrical issue. The next may involve repairing an air leak, replacing lighting, diagnosing HVAC, handling a door or interior issue, completing preventative maintenance, or coordinating a larger repair with an outside shop.

The goal is to identify problems early, reduce downtime, prevent repeat failures, improve DOT readiness, and keep our fleet operating safely and reliably.

  • $32.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on experience and capabilities
  • Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
  • Higher compensation may be considered for extensive motorcoach experience
  • Overtime opportunities as available
  • Benefits package
  • Paid time off
  • Stable year‑round work
  • Opportunity to take ownership of and help improve ALLSTAR's fleet maintenance program
