Job summary

Royal Coach Tours is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee safety, reliability, compliance, and cost-effective maintenance of our motor coach fleet in Las Vegas. You will manage preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, shop operations, parts, vendors, maintenance records, and breakdown response.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of diesel fleet maintenance and supervisory experience, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with Operations to minimize service

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressively responsible diesel fleet maintenance experience.
• Supervisory or management experience in a fleet or transportation environment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, HVAC, drivetrains, and emissions systems.
• Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA requirements and preventive-maintenance programs.
• Proficiency with fleet-maintenance software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs for motor coaches and fleet vehicles.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with Operations to minimize service interruptions.
• Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate mechanics and maintenance staff.
• Create and monitor work orders; verify safety and quality of completed work.
• Monitor compliance, downtime, shop productivity, and turnaround time.
• Ensure DOT/FMCSA/OSHA regulatory compliance and maintain inspection records.
• Oversee parts procurement, inventory, tools, and vendor relationships.
• Review expenses and identify cost-control opportunities without compromising safety.
• Manage warranty claims, part replacements, and recurring mechanical problems.

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the safety, reliability, compliance, and cost-effective maintenance of our motor coach fleet. This position manages preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, shop operations, parts inventory, vendors, maintenance records, and emergency breakdown response.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with extensive diesel maintenance knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate maintenance priorities with Operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring Royal Coach vehicles meet high standards for safety, appearance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs for motor coaches and related fleet vehicles.
• Maintain fleet availability while coordinating maintenance schedules with the Operations department to minimize service interruptions.
• Supervise, schedule, train, coach, and evaluate mechanics, technicians, and other maintenance employees.
• Create and monitor work orders, assign repairs, and verify that completed work meets company safety and quality standards.
• Monitor preventive-maintenance compliance, vehicle downtime, road calls, repeat repairs, shop productivity, and repair turnaround time.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
• Maintain complete and accurate inspection records, work orders, repair histories, warranty documentation, and regulatory records.
• Oversee parts procurement, inventory levels, tools, shop equipment, outside repairs, and vendor relationships.
• Review maintenance expenses and identify opportunities to control costs without compromising safety or reliability.
• Evaluate suppliers, replacement parts, and products based on price, durability, availability, and vehicle compatibility.
• Manage warranty claims, returns, and defective-part replacements.
• Diagnose recurring mechanical problems, investigate equipment failures, and implement corrective actions.
• Establish clear standards for workmanship, productivity, safety, attendance, and accountability.
• Conduct safety meetings and coordinate technical training for maintenance employees.
• Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and safe shop environment.
• Support vehicle acquisition, specification, replacement, and disposal decisions.
• Coordinate emergency repairs and provide after-hours assistance when operationally necessary.
• Communicate vehicle status, maintenance priorities, and service concerns clearly with Operations and company leadership.

Qualifications:

• Five or more years of progressively responsible diesel fleet maintenance experience, preferably involving motor coaches, buses, trucks, or other heavy-duty vehicles.
• Previous supervisory or management experience in a fleet, transportation, or commercial repair environment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, HVAC, drivetrains, emissions systems, and diagnostic equipment.
• Working knowledge of preventive-maintenance programs and applicable DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA requirements.
• Proficiency with fleet-maintenance software, computerized work-order systems, and inventory-management systems.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong leadership, troubleshooting, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to breakdowns and service disruptions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technicians, drivers, Operations, vendors, and company leadership.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform vehicle and shop inspections.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Nevada driver’s license.
• Clean DMV record.

Preferred qualifications include a technical degree or certification in diesel technology, automotive technology, fleet management, or a related field; ASE certifications; a commercial driver’s license; and experience with budgeting, warranty recovery, and fleet-performance reporting.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position based on operational needs. The employee must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and after hours when emergency maintenance support is required.
