Job summary

Johnson County Government's Motor Vehicle Division in Olathe, KS seeks a Motor Vehicle Specialist (Customer Service I) to assist customers with motor vehicle transactions, review documents, and handle cash and payments accurately.

This full-time role runs weekdays 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with occasional driving, emphasizing accuracy, service quality, and guiding customers to self-service options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of customer service experience is preferred.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred or may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with motor vehicle transactions by reviewing documents for accuracy and entering data.
• Answer questions about titles, registrations, renewals, and motor vehicle requirements.
• Collect forms and supporting documents, review for accuracy and completeness.
• Resolve problems by clarifying issues and researching solutions.
• Calculate and collect fees, handle cash, credit cards, and checks.
• Maintain high levels of customer service while meeting accuracy and cash-handling standards.
• Educate customers on self-service options and kiosk usage.
• Greet customers and assist with self-service renewal and drop-off options.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
