Job summary

Miami County Kansas is seeking a Motor Vehicle Clerk to provide high-volume, professional assistance to the public in person, by phone, and in writing. You will handle titles, registrations, and driver's license renewals in a fast-paced office.

This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of state procedures, and the ability to multitask under varied supervision levels. On-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; minimum of two years of clerical experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience handling stressful situations and customer interactions; ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers over the phone and in person.
• Process motor vehicle registration renewals by mail, online and in person.
• Prepare and issue titles, registrations, license plates, 60‑day tag, inspection permits and disabled placards.
• Examine documents for authenticity, accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain detailed records securely and accurately.
• Process imaging of title records and other MOVRS transactions.
• Explain motor vehicle information to the public.
• Compose professional correspondence regarding motor vehicle transactions.
• Review and approve co-workers title transactions for accuracy.
