Job summary

The United States Army Reserve seeks a Motor Transport Operator (88M) to supervise and operate wheel vehicles, transporting personnel and cargo within the New Jersey region. You will help ensure mobility on and off the battlefield and support sustainment operations.

Training includes Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, with hands‑on vehicle and field exercises. Driving experience and an interest in mechanics are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate wheel vehicles and supervise loading/unloading of cargo.
• Experience or interest in driving and vehicle mechanics is beneficial.
• Ability to follow safety and convoy procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate all wheel vehicles and equipment over varied terrain and roadways.
• Manage load, unload and safety of personnel being transported.
• Oversee and check proper loading and unloading of cargo on vehicles and trailers.
• Employ convoy defense techniques.
• Identify, correct or report all vehicle deficiencies.
• Prepare vehicles for movement/shipment by air, rail or vessel.
