Job summary

Kiowa County seeks a Motor Grader Operator I to maintain county roads, operating a motor grader and related heavy equipment. The role requires a high school diploma (or GED) and a valid Colorado CDL Class A endorsement.

Shifts are 6:30 am–4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, offering a four-day workweek. Duties include spreading gravel, shaping shoulders, draining ditches, snow plowing, and daily equipment checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year roadway maintenance experience.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License with CDL Class A Endorsement; acceptable MVR.
• Ability to operate motor grader and heavy equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Operates motor grader and heavy equipment to maintain roads.
• Spread gravel and shape road shoulders to maintain slope and width.
• Maintain ditches and drainage; plow snow as needed.
• Keep records of work performed and materials used.
• Adhere to safety rules and maintain safe work zones.
• Report off-duty work for emergencies as needed.
