Qualifications

• Two years of heavy equipment operation experience or related field.
• Physically able to operate a variety of machines including motor grader, tractor, backhoe, trucks, bushhogs and general maintenance equipment.
• Successful completion of Greenwood County Public Works heavy equipment skill assessment.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as backhoe, front end loader, bulldozer, tractor, grader, and trucks.
• Load, transport, and position heavy equipment safely at job sites.
• Inspect and report vehicle and equipment maintenance needs; follow service schedules.
• Assist with traffic control, signage placement, and work zone safety.
• Complete work orders and communicate issues to supervisor.
