United Companies, a CRH Company, is seeking a skilled Grade Crew Finish Blade Operator to safely operate a motor grader and related equipment at Grand Junction, CO. The role involves frequent travel to other sites and requires strict adherence to safety procedures.

Wage ranges from $24 to $26 per hour based on experience, with duties spanning grading, maintenance, record-keeping, and site preparation for road construction and paving projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in aggregate, asphalt, or construction.
• Topcon machine control preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate blade/motor grader safely and efficiently, including regulating height and angle of grader blade, scarifies and loosening packed soil to permit grading and titling front wheels of grader when making sharp turns.
• Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct an unsafe condition.
• Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
• Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling, and cleaning) on blade/motor grader.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance (lubricating, fueling, and cleaning) on blade/motor grader or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Keep time and material records.
• Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
• Travel from interstate highway to rural dirt roads from various locations.
• May assist laborer at various job sites as needed. May perform physical tasks involved with road construction and laying asphalt, etc.
• Other duties assigned.
