Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking an Experienced Motor Grader “Finish Grade” Operator in the Huntsville, AL / North Alabama operations area, Alabama SMA reporting to the General Manager of Construction & Superintendent. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Job Responsibilities
  • operate motor grader and other heavy or grading equipment to complete grading and fine grading tasks
  • ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments
  • perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management
  • perform daily pre‑and post‑inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
  • effective communication skills applicable to position
  • properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment
Qualifications
  • minimum of 2‑3 years of experience in finish grading required
  • individual must be dedicated to working safely at all times
  • experienced working with GPS control preferred
  • flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary
  • team player
  • valid driver’s license
  • distinguish and understand signals
  • read and understand grade stakes
  • use both hands and feet at the same time
  • work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection
  • must be able to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment
  • able to use mechanic’s hand tools and tape measure
  • able to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment
  • lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 100 pounds
  • good vision, both close‑up and long‑distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment
  • must have good reliable transportation to make it to and from work
  • self‑motivated individual – must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision
  • must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
  • must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises
  • willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required
  • able to provide valid documentation for the I‑9 Immigration requirement
  • must be drug free and able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
