Job summary

Sulzer seeks a Motor & Generator Winder to perform winding, rewinding, insulation, connection, test support, and electrical rebuild work on heavy-industrial motors, generators, armatures, rotors, stators and related equipment for utilities and manufacturing sectors.

The role develops through skilled winders; candidates should bring electrical aptitude, precise hand skills, and willingness to learn specialized rewind processes; experienced winders may mentor others and perform complex rewind

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Electrical/mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn rewind processes.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, safety instructions, and technical documentation.
• Ability to perform physical work in an industrial shop.

Responsibilities

• Remove windings, insulation systems, wedges, and leads.
• Record winding data during teardown and repair.
• Prepare stators, rotors, armatures, fields for rewind or repair.
• Manufacture, install, repair, and inspect windings.
• Install and inspect form-wound coils and components.
• Apply insulation and varnish per procedure.
• Perform or support electrical testing (megger, surge, hipot, etc.).
• Read and interpret winding data and drawings.
