Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Motor Engineer II to design, prototype, test, and refine mid to high-complexity motor assemblies, collaborating across Global Motor Engineering and Operations. You will develop platform-based motor designs and drive mass production reliability for Milwaukee tools worldwide.

Expect to lead test plans, perform data-driven analysis, mentor junior engineers, and travel up to 10% for supplier and site needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a design-related role.
• Familiarity with PMDC/AC motors and motor design fundamentals.
• Willingness to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
• Strong problem-solving and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot motors for mid to high-complexity projects.
• Create test plans for motor components and assemblies.
• Use oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and data acquisition systems.
• Conduct hands-on experiments, simulations, and analyze data to draw conclusions.
• Perform root cause failure analysis on motor failures.
• Self-manage projects and communicate progress and risks across the organization.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with suppliers for component selection.
