Job summary

Melrose/Wakefield Hospital, part of the Tufts Medicine system, seeks a unit coordinator to support patient care operations. You will manage patient flow, assemble charts, and act as a liaison across departments to ensure smooth daily activities on the unit.

This full-time role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with healthcare customer service experience preferred. The position offers day/evening shifts, 36 hours weekly, and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of customer service experience in healthcare or a customer-facing setting is preferred.
• Associate's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remains in constant communications with admissions on status of all patients including transfers, admissions, discharges, bed changes, bed cleaning requests, and possible changes through the shift.
• Review of bed assignments and relay this information to clinical staff.
• Greet patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel and direct them per service standards.
• Assemble and maintain patient charts on the unit; file data in patient records; prepare charts for Medical Records on discharge.
