Job summary

Flatiron Construction Corp in Virginia seeks an experienced MOT Superintendent to lead scheduling, coordination and supervision of production and workforce on a major Design-Build project for I-64, a multi-billion program. You will work with engineers, subcontractors and vendors to keep milestones on track while enforcing safety and quality standards.

The role requires 8+ years in heavy civil construction with strong communication and the ability to read contract plans and specs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience required.
• 5+ years construction management experience required.
• Bachelor's Degree a plus.
• Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Advanced knowledge of construction site equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of construction site safety protocols and enforcing safety programs.
• Knowledge of local union or prevailing wage rules, if applicable.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract plans/specifications.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts and basic geometry (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions).

Responsibilities

• Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs and work schedule for assigned project work; review and update weekly schedules.
• Review project specs and coordinate with field crews, engineers and utilities to identify hazards on site.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to ensure equipment and materials meet project needs within budget and schedule.
• Forecast schedules and provide technical or scheduling recommendations to mitigate issues.
• Provide input to identify project risks, document daily activities and meetings per company methods.
• Support safety/process controls and identify training needs on the jobsite.
• Supervise subcontractor production and workforce; adjust schedules or methods as needed.
