Job summary

FlatironDragados in Virginia Beach seeks an experienced Superintendent to lead the heavy civil flood mitigation project. You will plan methods, coordinate field crews, supervise subcontractors, and ensure compliance with contract drawings and specs to deliver on schedule and budget.

The role requires 8+ years in heavy civil construction and 5+ years in construction management; a Bachelor's degree is a plus. Valid driver’s license and STS preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
• 5+ years construction management experience.
• Bachelor's Degree a plus.
• STS certification preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of construction site equipment operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of local union or prevailing wage rules, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs and work schedule for assigned project work.
• Coordinate with crews, field engineers and utility companies to identify hazards and set up work.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to ensure equipment and materials meet budget and schedule.
• Forecast schedule to identify issues and mitigate production delays.
• Provide technical input on risks, methods, and safety; document daily activities and meetings.
• Promote safety/process controls and identify training needs on site.
• Supervise subcontractor production and adjust schedules as needed.
