Job summary

PENNYMAC is seeking a Loan Research Negotiation Specialist II to negotiate retention or liquidation workout solutions for defaulted borrowers, aiming to avoid foreclosure and minimize losses. You will ensure compliance with regulations and PNMAC policies while supporting the mortgage platform and servicing operations.

The role requires experience with mortgage liens/short sales, strong communication skills, and advanced Excel/Word proficiency to process analyses and prepare management reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience with first and second mortgage liens and short sale/liquidation preferred.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and attitude when speaking with customers or via email.
• Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, loan documentation and other relevant data to determine best workout solution.
• Conduct gain/loss analysis on loans to project potential future loss vs. short sale or deed in lieu.
• Obtain transaction approval by preparing complete package for management review.
• Review delinquent mortgages daily to ensure proper resolution.
• Process applications needing more oversight or Investor involvement, especially those with higher risk.
• Perform other duties as required and aligned with the company values.
