The position requires 3 years of mortgage lending experience, knowledge of processing guidelines, and strong analytical abilities.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in mortgage lending.
• Knowledge of mortgage processing, closing, documentation, and regulations.
• Underwriting familiarity with criteria, guidelines, rules and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication and basic research skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze mortgage loan information to confirm eligibility per NFCU and investor requirements.
• Evaluate exceptions and rejections; propose alternative mortgage products.
• Analyze self-employed borrower income documentation.
• Approve loans and authorize disbursements based on documentation and rules.
• Assess collateral value and marketability of real estate to support loan.
• Prepare and present options on marginal loans; analyze adverse actions and loan reviews.
• Understand contracts related to real estate (HOAs, age restrictions, etc.).
• Collaborate with loan originators and processors to gather data and documentation.
• Mentor Mortgage Processors, Closers, and Mortgage Officers.
• Maintain knowledge of NFCU mortgage products and guideline changes.
• Contribute to training materials to ensure consistent guidance.
• Perform secondary reviews of dispositioned loans and declines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
