Job summary

Dark Matter Technologies seeks a Director, Product & Regulatory Compliance Counsel to own the compliance program for mortgage technology solutions. You will translate evolving federal/state regulations into product requirements and guide internal teams and clients through regulatory questions.

This leadership role reports to the Deputy General Counsel, with hybrid (Jacksonville) or remote work. Requires 5+ years in mortgage compliance and a US law degree with bar admission.

Qualifications

• Requires a law degree and bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction.
• At least 5 years of mortgage compliance experience, including lender or mortgage tech exposure.
• Strong knowledge of federal mortgage regulations and state requirements.
• Experience running or supporting a compliance program (policies, audits, inquiries).
• Ability to translate regulation into product requirements and provide client/regulator guidance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor federal, state, and investor regulatory changes and assess impact on products.
• Translate regulations into clear business and functional requirements for product/engineering teams.
• Own and maintain the compliance program, including policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate responses to audits, vendor due-diligence, regulator inquiries, and SOC/third-party reviews.
• Deliver compliance training and report risks to leadership.
