Job summary

Truist in the United States is seeking a Pre-Processing Quality Lead to cover operations and support the Pre-Processing Manager. This hybrid SME will oversee pipeline performance, resolve loan-level inquiries, and support both frontline teammates and leadership.

The role requires 4–6 years of mortgage experience, strong AUS/LQS/underwriting knowledge, and proven mentoring ability. Team coaching and process improvements are key components of this position.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years mortgage experience.
• Expertise in Conventional, Government, Bond, Portfolio loans.
• Ability to manage a high-volume pipeline (20+ loans).
• Experience mentoring or training teammates.
• Advanced understanding of AUS, LQS, and underwriting standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to pre-processing guidelines, SLAs and controls.
• Support audit responses with Pre-Processing Manager.
• Assist updates to policies, procedures and systems.
• Perform file reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
• Support resolution of disputes, escalations and exceptions.
• Coach Pre-Processing staff and provide feedback.
• Serve as escalation point for complex loan issues.
• Provide real-time feedback to improve loan quality.
• Assist onboarding and upskilling of staff.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest process improvements.
