Job summary

First National Bank Texas is seeking a mortgage originator to grow our loan portfolio in the assigned territory. You will develop relationships with local real estate agents and builders, train staff on mortgage basics, and manage end-to-end loan processes with borrowers and agents.

The role requires in-person origination experience, knowledge of VA/FHA/conventional programs, and proficiency with underwriting tools. A home-office capable, self-motivated candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2+ years in-person mortgage origination with a solid book of business.
• Experience in a commission-based origination role.
• Knowledge of VA, FHA and conventional mortgage programs.
• Knowledge of LP, DU and underwriting systems.
• Experience with mortgage origination software (Ellie Mae).
• Self-motivated with ability to work from a home office with limited supervision.
• Ability to review and understand credit reports.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Must pass background check per policy.
• Able to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Originate high quality loans meeting guidelines.
• Develop relationships with real estate agents and builders.
• Manage territory; train employees on mortgage basics.
• Present to realtors, buyers and partners; conduct seminars.
• Handle customer loan applications and credit pulls.
• Explain disclosures and all initial compliance docs.
• Coordinate with borrowers, agents throughout the loan process.
• Travel as needed to meet business needs.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
