Job summary

First National Bank Texas is seeking an experienced Mortgage Originator to originate loans and cultivate relationships with local real estate agents and builders. You will manage loan applications, pull credit, and present solutions while adhering to regulatory guidelines.

This role supports team collaboration, may include office management duties, and requires travel to meet business needs. The position emphasizes meeting FCMC guidelines and providing excellent service to borrowers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent in-person mortgage origination experience with a solid book of business.
• Experience in a commission-based origination role.
• Knowledge of VA, FHA and conventional loan programs.
• Knowledge of LP, DU and Clout Automated Underwriting Systems.
• Ability to review and understand credit reports.
• Must pass background investigation and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Originate high quality loans which meet FCMC guidelines.
• Develop business relationships with local Real Estate agents and builders.
• Manage territory and train employees on mortgage loan basics.
• Develop contacts with Banks partner store management team.
• Take customer loan applications, including pulling credit.
• Conduct presentations (First Time Home Buyer Seminars, realtor meetings, etc.).
• Communicate with borrowers and real estate agents throughout the loan process.
• Issue and explain pre-qualification letters, disclosures and initial compliance documents.
• Travel as needed to meet business needs.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned.
