Job summary

First National Bank Texas is seeking an experienced Mortgage Origination Specialist to originate high-quality loans and develop relationships with real estate agents and builders in the Little Rock area. This role may involve managing a territory across FNBT and First Convenience banks and training staff on mortgage basics.

You will take loan applications, explain disclosures, and present at Homebuyer seminars and realtor meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• 2+ years of recent in-person mortgage origination experience with a solid book of business.
• Experience in a commission-based origination role.
• Knowledge of VA, FHA and conventional mortgage programs.
• Familiarity with LP, DU and automated underwriting systems.
• Experience with Ellie Mae mortgage origination software.
• Self-motivation and ability to work from a home office with limited supervision.
• Ability to review and understand credit reports.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Must pass background investigation per company policy.
• Team-oriented and able to collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Originate high-quality loans meeting guidelines.
• Develop business relationships with local real estate agents and builders.
• Manage territory across FNBT and First Convenience banks and train staff on mortgage basics.
• Develop contacts with banks' partner store management teams.
• Take customer loan applications, including pulling credit.
• Conduct presentations such as First Time Home Buyer seminars and realtor meetings.
• Communicate with borrowers and agents throughout the loan process.
• Explain pre-qualification letters, disclosures, and initial compliance docs (GFE, TIL, APR).
• May serve as general office manager, handling correspondence, supplies, and staff schedules.
• Act as liaison between locations and corporate management as needed.
• Travel as required; maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
