Job summary

Broadview FCU in Syracuse, NY seeks a Mortgage Originator to promote real estate loan products and originate applications from members,brokers, and builders. You will review pre-approvals, issue certificates, and ensure adherence to NY Banking Law and SAFE Act requirements.

You will travel to branches for mortgage consultations, conduct seminars, and support cross-selling across Broadview's product lines. A strong background in lending and licensing is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent and 3+ years of lending experience required.
• Mortgage loans experience of at least 1 year preferred.
• Must obtain national licensing per NY Banking Law and SAFE Act.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with office software.
• Driver’s license required for travel to branches and appointments.

Responsibilities

• Promote mortgage products to members, brokers, and real estate partners.
• Originate loan applications from internal and external sources.
• Review pre-approvals and issue certificates to qualified candidates.
• Attend community events to solicit mortgage referrals and educate on programs.
• Assist in cross-selling Broadview's products and services.
