Job summary

Metro Credit Union is seeking a Financial Solutions Specialist, Mortgage Workout Specialist to help members through mortgage hardship, evaluating borrower circumstances and explaining workout options within investor guidelines and regulatory requirements.

You will manage past-due mortgage accounts, perform outreach, review accounts, document actions, and provide thoughtful recommendations to support loss mitigation and the credit union's financial health.

Qualifications

• At least three years of collections or loss mitigation experience.
• Knowledge of FDCPA and mortgage servicing regulations.
• Ability to analyze financial information and develop compliant repayment or workout recommendations.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Sound judgment, organization, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
• Experience with mortgage servicing platforms (MSP/Black Knight).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a general office environment with phone and computer use.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of past-due mortgage accounts and act as the primary advocate for members.
• Educate borrowers on options including forbearance, repayment plans, and loan modifications.
• Analyze financial information and recommend compliant solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate, efficient handling.
• Maintain documentation and reporting to support loss mitigation outcomes.
• Balance member needs with investor requirements and regulatory standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and member experience.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
