Job summary

University Bank seeks a Loss Mitigation Specialist to reduce foreclosure risk by partnering with delinquent borrowers on sustainable home retention or liquidation solutions. You will assess borrower financials, counsel options, and ensure reviews meet investor, insurer, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include reviewing financial packages, processing workout options per agency guidelines, and maintaining compliance across systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mortgage loss mitigation.
• Knowledge of investor and insurer loss mitigation guidelines.
• Certification in credit counseling, collections, or mortgage servicing is a plus.
• Strong understanding of foreclosure prevention options and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with ICE Mortgage Technology platforms (MSP, LMS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review borrower financial packages for completeness and compliance.
• Process and monitor workout options per GSE, FHA/HUD, USDA, VA, and private guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with CFPB rules and Regulation X/Z during underwriting reviews.
• Respond promptly to departmental email queues and inquiries.
• Communicate with borrowers, lenders, attorneys, and investors to establish sustainable workout strategies.
• Provide counseling to delinquent borrowers and participate in mitigation calls.
