Job summary

United Community Bank is seeking a Mortgage Lender to evaluate and approve loan applications across consumer, real estate, and commercial credit. The role requires interviewing applicants, analyzing finances, and entering data into LaserPro or Encompass.

You will communicate decisions and ensure policy compliance while supporting branch operations. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree and 2–4 years of lending experience, with strong attention to detail and customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or equivalent preferred.
• 2–4 years loan experience in a financial institution preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Encompass and LaserPro is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and collect information for loan applications.
• Analyze applicants' financial status and property to determine feasibility.
• Enter loan applications into LaserPro or Encompass.
• Communicate with applicants and creditors to resolve questions regarding the application.
• Approve loans within specified limits or refer loan to loan committee for approval.
• Ensure loan documents are complete, accurate and in accord with policy.
• Notify applicants of loan decision and outline terms.
• Close the loan and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Review loan markets and stay updated on laws and compliance.
