Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2-4 years experience in a financial institution in a loan setting preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with loan systems is required.
• NMLS registration or eligibility is assumed for Mortgage Lenders.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and request information for loan applications
• Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan
• Enter loan applications into LaserPro or Encompass
• Correspond with applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information
• Approve loans within specified limits or refer loan to loan committee for approval
• Notify applicants of loan decision and outline loan terms to customers
• Close the loan and ensure all documents are complete and compliant
• Review regulatory changes affecting mortgage lending and maintain policy knowledge
• Develop prospects for loans by analyzing potential markets
• Assist the branch manager with duties when needed
