Job summary

Ashland Credit Union in Ashland, KY is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor to join our Mortgage Department. You will collect and verify documents, review applications for compliance, and interact with members and third parties to move files toward closing.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of mortgage products, can multi-task, and works well in a detail-oriented, fast-paced environment. This role operates Monday–Friday 8am–5pm EST and supports member financial goals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of residential mortgage loan products (conventional, FHA, VA, etc.).
• Ability to pass background check required for NMLS license and Notary Public.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize required documentation from members to complete mortgage loan applications accurately and efficiently.
• Review loan applications to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and gather financial information, including income, assets, employment status, and liabilities.
• Identify, research, and correct errors or inconsistencies in loan files and application data.
• Communicate with members and third parties to obtain and verify necessary information.
• Monitor loan files to ensure all documentation is received and processed in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
• Assist Loan Officers with application follow-up, condition gathering, and document tracking.
• Maintain clear and organized records in the loan processing system for audits and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to all federal and state real estate lending laws and regulations (RESPA, TILA, ECOA, etc.).
• Provide outstanding service to internal and external members by responding to inquiries and supporting the mortgage loan process.
