Ascend Bank in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Mortgage & Loan Processor to manage residential mortgage and consumer loan files from application through closing, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance for a smooth approval process.

The role requires reviewing applications, verifying documents, coordinating with third-party services, and communicating with loan officers and borrowers to meet deadlines while maintaining high service standards.

Qualificações

• A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
• 3+ years of mortgage processing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines (conventional, FHA, VA, USDA)
• Familiarity with loan origination systems
• Understanding of compliance regulations and documentation standards
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple loans and deadlines simultaneously
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to calculate income (W-2, self-employed, commission, rental, etc.)
• Understanding of credit analysis and debt-to-income calculations

Responsabilidades

• Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Collect, verify, and analyze borrower documents (income, assets, credit, employment)
• Order and review third-party services such as appraisals, title, and flood certifications
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and investor guidelines (e.g., TRID, RESPA)
• Submit complete loan packages to underwriting and address conditions in a timely manner
• Communicate with loan officers, underwriters, closers, and borrowers to obtain required information
• Monitor loan pipeline to meet processing and closing deadlines
• Prepare and maintain accurate loan files in the loan origination system (LOS)
• Identify and resolve issues that may delay loan approval or closing
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan process
