Job summary

U.S. Bank in California is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate loans in an assigned non-bank territory, handling applications and early underwriting.

You will follow up to secure documents and regularly conduct sales activities away from bank locations, spending at least 50% of your time in the field. Requires NMLS registration, a high school diploma, and 2+ years in mortgage or real estate; strong communication and sales skills strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• NMLS registration under SAFE Act and Regulation Z
• High school degree or equivalent
• Two or more years of Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate experience
• Knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and local programs
• Familiar with RESPA, Truth-in-Lending and related laws
• Excellent communication and sales-oriented skills

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in assigned territory
• Take applications and conduct preliminary underwriting reviews
• Submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval
• Spend at least 50% of time away from U.S. Bank locations for sales activities
