Job summary

Fifth Third Bank in Macedonia, Ohio is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to oversee the residential loan process from application to closing, while developing internal and external referral networks.

You will work with sales leadership and Senior Loan Originator to master processing, underwriting, pricing, and closing tasks, ensuring compliance and outstanding customer experience. This full-time role emphasizes risk awareness and timely communication with branches.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• A four-year college degree is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork and customer service.
• Proven computer skills.
• Basic sales technique skills.
• Ability to stay optimistic and goal-oriented.
• Knowledge of mortgage processes a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal and external referral contacts (realtors, builders, COIs).
• Learn and master mortgage loan originator duties from application to closing.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, products, processing and underwriting procedures.
• Collect documents and deliver loan packages within required timeframes.
• Manage loan pipeline through closing and provide updates to branches.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required by management.
