Job summary

Landmark Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to be the first contact for members seeking mortgage guidance. You will manage the loan pipeline from application to closing and stay engaged with community activities.

The role requires a strong track record in mortgage lending, NMLS registration, and the ability to work independently while delivering excellent customer service and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years lending experience, including 2+ years as commissioned mortgage loan officer.
• Must have National Mortgage Licensing System registration (NMLS).
• Thorough understanding of all mortgage products.
• Experience with systems used for loan and deposit products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to handle confidential information and adhere to policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Builds relationships with realtors, builders and other centers of influence within the local community.
• Cultivates branch relationship by attending regular branch meetings and coaching branch staff.
• Manages pipeline for all originated loans, from origination through closing.
• Takes mortgage loan applications, obtains credit reports and submits paperwork to underwriters.
• Cross sells Landmark's other products and services and refers to Landmark's Investment Center.
• Represents Landmark Credit Union in the community through active involvement.
• Attends Mortgage Originator meetings and participates as needed.
• Handles member questions and problems as they arise.
• Keeps up-to-date on Landmark's loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
