Job summary

Landmark Credit Union in Madison, WI, seeks an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to guide members through the mortgage process and build strong community ties. You’ll manage a loan pipeline, assess credit reports, and coordinate with underwriters to move files to closing.

The role requires a high school diploma with 5+ years lending experience and NMLS registration, plus the ability to maintain confidentiality and deliver outstanding service to members and realtors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, and at least five years of lending experience with two years as a commissioned mortgage loan officer.
• Must hold a National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration.
• Thorough understanding of all mortgage products and related programs.
• Experience with systems for deposit and loan products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with realtors, builders, and other centers of influence in the local community.
• Cultivate branch relationships by attending regular branch meetings and coaching staff.
• Manage pipeline for originated loans from origination through closing.
• Take mortgage loan applications, obtain credit reports, and submit documents to underwriters.
• Cross-sell Landmark products and refer to Investment Center.
• Represent Landmark in community activities and attend Mortgage Originator meetings.
• Handle member questions and stay up-to-date on loan products and underwriting guidelines.
