Job summary

Ameris Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate and close mortgage loans. You will develop new business by contacting borrowers, real estate professionals, builders and other referral sources to generate leads and expand Ameris Bank's mortgage footprint.

You will oversee the loan process, explain required documentation, counsel customers, coordinate with processors, and ensure timely closings while adhering to regulatory requirements and internal pricing guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience using mortgage origination software.
• Effective utilization of a contact management system.
• Knowledge of mortgage products/servicing, operations, and current market trends.
• Proven mortgage production of $5 million over the past year.
• Proven success in establishing referral relationships.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active NMLS registration compliant with SAFE Act.
• Develop and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, developers, and referral agents.
• Contact potential or existing customers to develop new business.
• Counsel customers on eligible products to fit their financial needs.
• Assist customers with loan applications and required disclosures.
