Job summary

ProFed Credit Union in Fort Wayne, IN seeks an Mortgage Delinquency Specialist focused on contacting delinquent mortgage loan accounts and applying loss mitigation strategies in line with investors’ guidelines. You will also handle delinquent Visa and negative balance accounts to support the Account Management Team.

Qualifications include organized, detail-oriented work ethic, strong written and oral communication, and proficiency with Excel/Word.

Qualifications

• Must follow servicing guidelines and report delinquencies promptly.
• Experience with mortgage servicing or collections is preferred.
• Ability to prepare delinquency documentation and meet reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Primary contact for homeowners with mortgage repayment issues.
• Ensure compliance with CFPB and NCUA rules.
• Send required solicitation letters to delinquent accounts.
• Provide loss mitigation options to members in default.
• Prepare accounts in bankruptcy/foreclosure for the appropriate collection attorney.
• Maintain documentation on invoices paid and submit servicer reimbursements to investors.
• Report delinquency information to investors and PMI providers.
• Collect delinquent loans, Visa accounts, and negative balance accounts.
• Expand knowledge of credit union products and services.
• Provide exceptional member service with empathy and effective solutions.
• All other duties as assigned.
