Job summary

Old National Bank in Evansville, IN is seeking a Loss Mitigation Specialist to focus on real estate secured loans 40+ days delinquent. You will assemble and present recovery plans that balance borrower needs with bank interests, with an in-office role Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include documenting interactions, complying with regulatory guidelines, and coordinating with borrowers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve delinquencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business related field is preferred.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in loss mitigation, collections, customer service and/or banking is preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work independently and use good judgment to make sound decisions.
• Must possess an understanding of financial worksheets.
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills, while being self-motivated and understanding sense of urgency.
• Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, peers, and all levels of management through written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound collection calls and take inbound calls related to borrowers' delinquencies and hardships.
• Present solutions that fit ONB’s interests and values while assisting borrowers.
• Serve as a single point of contact for borrowers throughout the resolution process.
• Adhere to scheduling and deadlines to follow up with borrowers throughout the resolution process.
• Communicate effectively with teammates, management, vendors, and authorized third parties as needed.
• Use banking and collection software to document all interactions with borrowers and other stakeholders.
• Maintain files of documents submitted during Loss Mitigation review.
• Create and complete analyses, forms, and templates in the resolution process.
• Order and maintain reports and valuations related to collateral properties.
• Maintain loan documentation from other ONB lines of business as required.
• Train to identify and understand regulations governing Collection and Loss Mitigation processes.
