Job summary

Newrez is seeking a Mortgage Consultant to originate loans for existing customers and first-time home buyers. The role focuses on servicing current clients and driving new business through calls from diverse lead sources.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of origination experience, an active NMLS license, and strong knowledge of appraisals, title reports, and product guidelines. Compliance and customer service excellence are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Origination experience in the mortgage or banking industry required.
• 2+ years’ origination experience.
• Active NMLS license.
• Solid understanding of appraisals, title reports and product guidelines.
• Must maintain mortgage licenses by completing mandatory annual continuing education.
• Experience using persuasive communication skills, inside sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Originate purchase and refinance loans via phone from various leads (internet, direct mail, referrals).
• Engage with borrowers, determine needs, and offer appropriate products.
• Manage a loan pipeline from application to closing with underwriting and processing teams.
• Obtain necessary information to close (credit reports, income verification, appraisals).
• Ensure compliance with TILA, RESPA, and Fair Lending; maintain compliant documentation.
• Provide superior customer service and meet monthly sales goals.
• Stay informed of mortgage industry trends and maintain Newrez Code of Conduct.
• Perform related duties as assigned by management.
