Job summary

Opendoor is building a new mortgage lending business and seeks a Compliance Manager to own regulatory compliance across a multi-state operation. You will lead CMS, NMLS licensing, HMDA/MCR filings, and examinations while partnering with Legal, operations, and tech to sustain a compliant, fast-paced lending platform.

We value hands-on experience in mortgage compliance, strong communication, and a track record of scaling compliance programs within a startup/tech-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multi-state NMLS licensing for entities and individuals.
• Proven track record preparing HMDA LAR, MCR, and state filings.
• Experience building or standing up a compliance function in mortgage lending.
• Strong communication to explain regulatory requirements to stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in business, law, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own the CMS for the mortgage operation, including policy development and training.
• Manage multi-state NMLS licensing, applications, renewals, and surety bonds for >47 states.
• Prepare and submit HMDA LAR, MCR, and state reports.
• Lead regulatory examinations and remediation efforts.
• Track regulatory changes and ensure proactive compliance across jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with legal, operations, and tech to implement compliant, scalable solutions.
