Job summary

AmeriNat is seeking a Mortgage Collections Specialist in Palatine, IL. You will manage delinquent mortgage loans, outreach borrowers, and coordinate resolutions within established procedures. The role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and adherence to investor guidelines.

You will document activity in servicing systems, negotiate payment plans, and collaborate with Loss Mitigation to assist borrowers when options exist. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of collections, mortgage servicing, banking ops, or related experience.
• Two or more years of collections or mortgage servicing experience preferred.
• Ability to follow procedures, workflows, investor guidelines, and servicing standards.
• Bilingual English/Spanish considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contact borrowers regarding past due mortgage payments via inbound/outbound calls.
• Manage delinquency queues and collection activities within service standards.
• Discuss account status, payment history, and available resolution options with borrowers.
• Document payments, commitments, and activity in servicing systems.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and delinquency resolutions per procedures.
• Refer borrowers to Loss Mitigation when appropriate.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve issues and support borrower assistance.
