Job summary

AmeriNat in Palatine, IL is seeking a Mortgage Collections Team Lead for full-time employment. You will report to the Collections Manager and guide the day-to-day operations of the collections team, ensuring productivity and adherence to SLAs and regulatory requirements.

You will supervise, coach, and support staff, manage workflows, monitor performance, and handle escalated delinquent accounts while coordinating with management to meet client needs and department goals.

Qualifications

• Three years collections experience preferred.
• Thorough understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
• Thorough understanding of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau rules.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts (interest, principal balance, late charges).
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Mentor team members; perform call monitoring and coaching to ensure performance and accuracy.
• Serve as first point of contact for immediate assistance and guidance.
• Handle escalated collections issues and provide feedback.
• Assist with inbound calls, dialer responsibilities, and queue management.
• Launch and monitor dialer campaigns to optimize results.
• Ensure compliance with CFPB, FDCPA, RESPA, FCRA, and related regulations.
