Job summary

FirstBank is seeking a seasoned Mortgage Closings Leader. The role requires managing Closers, Funders and ICD Specialists, ensuring compliant and timely closings, and coordinating with title companies and lenders.

You will guide a team, drive service levels, and align with ROC leadership in a dynamic, remote-eligible environment within TN, KY, AL, GA. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years in mortgage closings, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of FHA, USDA, and conventional products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5 years of mortgage closing experience.
• Management experience in operations is needed.
• Understanding of lending industry trends and mortgage products (FHA, USDA, Conventional) is needed.
• Exceptional communication, supervision, math, customer service, and organization skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day management, attendance, training, hiring, recruiting, and performance reviews for closing department staff (Closers, Funders, ICD Specialists).
• Interface professionally with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and mortgage lenders to ensure a successful close.
• Elevate service levels for customers by overseeing all mortgage loan closings.
• Participate in the ROC Leadership Team and promote ROC goals, standards and vision within the team.
• Manage the ROC closing pipeline and pro-actively communicate to keep teams informed for a successful closing.
• Ensure compliance with lender underwriting guidelines and federal/state regulations.
• Examine and implement closing processes to maintain accurate loan files, settlement statements, and closing documents.
• Cultivate an environment that supports diversity, teamwork, and performance through leadership and feedback.
• Hire, coach, train and provide direction to team members for ongoing improvement.
