Job summary

The Deer Park School District #414 is seeking an Assistant Cook at Deer Park High School to support meal prep, serve nutritious meals, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen for students and staff. This 8-hour shift (6:00 AM–2:00 PM) Monday–Friday requires basic math, reading, and willingness to obtain a State Food Handler's Permit.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Proven cook experience, preferably in school or institutional settings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen equipment and keep a clean, organized work area.
• Handle food per sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Assist with food preparation for events and district activities.
• Prepare OSPI and HACCP records as required.
• Communicate with school staff to support educational programs.
