Job summary

ABC-Care-In is seeking a School Age Childcare Teacher for a school-age program. The role involves planning and implementing an enriching program while ensuring safety and a warm environment aligned with ABC Care's philosophy.

The teacher should be able to manage a group of children unsupervised when needed. Responsibilities include building relationships with staff, children, families, and the host school, plus developing age-appropriate lesson plans and applying conflict-resolution techniques

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willing to take CPR and First Aid class.
• Willing to take college courses to become SACCT qualified.
• Willing to take continuing education classes.
• Physical requirements: bend at 45 degrees, lift 30 lbs, twist, sit on ground and rise, squat, stand 4+ hours, stairs.
• Driver's license preferred.
• One 3-credit class (45 clock hours) on child development.
• One 3-credit class (45 clock hours) on school age level curriculum.
• One of: 400+ hours of supervised work with school age children or equivalent college training.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with staff, children, families and host school.
• Develop age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Apply problem solving and conflict-resolution techniques in teaching children.
